DWP August 2024 Update: Fast Shipping, New Minimum Order Amounts for Free Shipping!

Rocco DeLuca, Detectable Warning Products, back with your August 2024 update. I can't believe I'm saying August already. It feels like the year has melted away. And actually, not just us Floridians, but around the country, the temperatures have been so hot that it's more of a literal statement than it is a general one.

But it does feel like the year is slipping away. And we're utilizing the end of the summer right now to get ready to serve you well in the fall. And we normally have a rush on material orders in the fall as a lot of our northern contractors get ready to install their final jobs before the weather shut them down.

So, in line with timing, the majority of the questions you've been asking in the email responses has been timing, shipping timing questions. And to generalize that in a very small time that we have right now - 99.9% of your shipments are going to ship the day after you order them. And I would say 90% of those are going to be in a one to two business day travel window. So, unless you're in like, New York City and there's a, you know, an extra day in there, you're going to be getting your materials a few days after you order them from us. If you're in Midwest and out to California, Oregon, Washington, some of those could move to three to five business days.

But again, it depends on what you're ordering, because we're warehousing a lot of the typically used products in California. In California, I had two orders today that were typical California materials, and they're shipping tomorrow, and our customers are going to get them the day after. So that's your timing window. That will help you plan for the, for your future jobs, and hopefully that helps.

Also, I want to update you that we're finally landing on a date to change our shipping policies. That's going to be September 1. We're going to be moving our composite panels from a minimum dollar amount to a minimum quantity. So, whether you're ordering two by twos or two by threes or two by fours, it doesn't matter what size. As long as you order 120 pieces, shipping will be free.

And on the cast iron and concrete, we're going to move that window in a dollar amount from five thousand dollars to ten thousand dollars. Those items are super heavy and expensive to ship, so it's been hard for us to maintain any kind of a profit margin and still ship on orders that small. If you are a regular customer or you have a special circumstance, please reach out to me and maybe we can have a partial shipping cost in that five to $10,000 range for the next short time period ahead.
