Spring Construction Planning: Why Ordering Detectable Warning Panels Early Saves Time and Money

Read full transcript below:

Hi, this is Rocco DeLuca, owner and director of client services at DWP, here with your mid-April 2026 update. As we are in the midst of the spring season, many of you have already been ordering and/or getting ready for additional orders. Now is the perfect time to prepare for all your 2026 construction projects by reaching out sooner than later to secure your materials with DWP.

One of the best ways to avoid delays and complications on your projects is to make sure you're stocked up, or at least ordered up, with the detectable warning panels you need for your on-board projects. With spring construction in full gear and summer construction projects on the horizon, now is the ideal time to ensure your materials are ordered in advance.

This will help avoid any manufacturer's backorders, especially if materials are needed at the last minute. So, it's always good to stock up on projects you already have and know you will be ordering for soon. And now is the time to order for soon-needed materials. At the very least, let me know what you will be needing in the next few months or the rest of this year. And here's why.

First, Pricing in the industry can fluctuate, and we've already seen production costs rise, and you already saw that happen this past March 1st for the cast iron panels. By ordering ahead and securing your materials now, you can lock in the best prices and guarantee you will not have an increase on a project you've already estimated and won. This can have a significant impact on assuring you stay on budget for your won projects.

Second, there's a growing trend toward using more durable and longer-life products to meet the ADA mandate for detectable warnings. Cities and towns, as well as some private applications, are steering toward materials like cast iron for pretty much lifetime durability and galvanized steel for near-lifetime sustainability.

These materials are already more expensive than the composite and concrete options, so when their price increases by percentages, it has an even more significant impact on your cost. Because of this trend, we have worked out high-volume discounts with our manufacturers for you, our customers. You can take full advantage of that by locking in prices as soon as possible on your projects, current and future.

I keep reminding you of this because it's important and it's true. Here at DWP, we have a single and simple focus: make the process easy, fast, and cost-effective for you, so your projects stay on schedule and on budget.

If you'd like help reviewing upcoming orders or planning materials for your next project, our team is always ready and here to assist. As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Remember, we've been in the industry since the mandate began back in 2002. That's over 24 years of specialized experience. I've personally worked with every manufacturer and every type of application.

So even if you're not calling me to purchase and you just need some question answered, don't hesitate to reach out to me. If you need anything related to Detectable Warning products, whether it's for a new or retro install, just reach out to me and I'll have answers for you.
